My youngest students are beginning to learn about our robot, and how we program him. They are in the initial stages of learning block language and sequences. They are extremely excited to begin exploring and moving Byte.
Preschoolers and kindergartners have been doing a great job helping each other when working on chromebooks. At their age, using a trackpad is still very difficult. They have been working in pairs to help problem solve when needed. This type of learning is a great example of peer teaching through collaborative interactions, and extremely beneficial for the young students.
Preschoolers have my technology class once a week. Which makes it challenging to continue building on their technology skills with such little time. They have been working hard each class period to master navigating the websites appropriate for them. However, some students have been great at peer teaching and coaching their friends :-)
Preschoolers have been becoming experts navigating a website, and choosing what activities they want to do.
My preschool and kindergarten students have been working on writing our names and identifying the letters in our names on the keyboard. This will help the students be prepared when they are given the task of typing in their usernames and passwords.
