Year 3 students have been researching the problem with claw arcade games (and why no one wins!). Students are now aware that claws in the arcade games are programmed to go only 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 strength, rather than full strength when closing it's clamps.
Students have now begun the design process of finding a solution to "How do we build a non-motorized claw that opens and closes without the assistance of anyone touching the claw/gripper parts." Students will research, design, plan, and create, then test, improve, and test again their creations to see if it can: pick up a piece of paper, pick up a can of vegetables and pick up a magazine.
