Students have been busy planning and designing their own baseball parks. They were able add one extra element to their ballpark to make their's unique and distinguished among their peers. Students were then given the task of scoring two classmates' ballparks using the rubric they helped to create.Students finally were able to begin using their work plans. They were extremely eager to take control of their own learning and time spent in math. Our work plans consist of 5 choices: one dice games (math game by myself), two dice games (partner math games), chromebooks (approved student oriented math websites), read to myself, math journals. Students have the option to do each choice 2 times a week.
Students were taught this week how to log in to their CPS emails, and how to access Google Classroom. Students loved being able to email each other, and learn how to see new assignments that I post for them on Google Classroom. I hope to be able to assign most assignments digitally to help the students get prepared for our technologically changing world. As well as becoming responsible digital citizens.
Students began to design and create their own baseball park/stadium. Later, they will create their own scale to measure how much grass, dirt, and fence they need to build their design.
